It is important for the local populations of a community supported by tourism to learn English in order to communicate effectively with those who are their biggest source of income.

        • gallery-img5Community HealthMedical programs in Ghana welcome volunteers with a wide range of levels of experience, including qualified medical personnel, medical students and pre-med students. Attendance on a medical volunteer project is itself a helpful preparation for a medical career, and for this reason, provided they are enthusiastic and truly eager to help in the health sector, even individuals without medical experience can be accepted.

Whether it’s adding a personal touch to costume design or teaching music and dance to eager learners, there’s plenty of opportunity for expression and fun.
        • 100_3012Orphanage Work In GhanaThe program provides services for children and adolescents who have little access to social services, and come from poor families living in and around Agona Swedru in the central region. Children are provided a place to come and get basic education, some food, recreational activities and love and attention from the caring staff.

These civilian-run kindergartens cater to children from 2 - 6 years of age. There are generally 100 children attending each kindergarten, and class sizes often range from 20 - 25 pupils. Volunteers will teach alongside local staff members and often with another volunteer in the class.

The art centre was Ideally, two volunteers will work on the project at one time.
